India captain Rohit Sharma took to Instagram to post a photo after their thumping win over the West Indies in the first Test of the two-match series in Dominica.
In a spectacular display of cricket, India triumphed over West Indies in the first Test match held at Windsor Park in Dominica. The Indian team, led by Rohit, won by an innings and 141 runs, marking a strong start to the 2023-25 cycle of the World Test Championship.
The star of the match was undoubtedly Ravichandran Ashwin, who showcased his bowling prowess by taking 12 wickets in the match, including seven in the second innings. His performance on the turning pitch was instrumental in India’s victory, earning him his best figures in an overseas match.
India’s batting line-up also shone brightly, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma both scoring centuries in the first innings. Jaiswal, making his Test debut, scored an unbeaten 143, while Sharma contributed 103 runs. Their opening stand of 229 runs set the tone for India’s commanding total of 421/5 declared.
West Indies, on the other hand, struggled against India’s bowling attack, getting bowled out for 150 in their first innings. Despite a slightly better performance in the second innings, they were unable to withstand Ashwin’s bowling and were all out for 130.
